WhatsApp now lets users plan and schedule events in Communities
WhatsApp announced on Wednesday that it is launching a new way for people to organize events in their communities. The feature will make it easier for users to plan parties and events directly in WhatsApp, whether it’s arranging a parent-teacher association meeting or a birthday dinner.
Anyone can create an event that others can RSVP to, so others in the group can see who plans to attend. Users can find the event on the group’s information page, and those who want to attend will be notified when the event date approaches.
This new feature will be available first to groups that are part of the community and will be rolled out to all groups in the coming months.
WhatsApp has also added the ability for users to reply to messages in Announcement groups, which is where community managers send announcement updates to all community members. Replies are grouped together so you can see what others said without the user being notified about it. The purpose of this feature is to allow administrators to hear members’ opinions while also keeping the announcement group organized and avoiding clutter.
WhatsApp launched the “Communities” function as early as November 2022, allowing administrators to merge up to 50 groups together, allowing communities, school associations, amateurs, etc. to maintain communication between groups. connect. The company says it will continue to roll out new features for communities and groups in the coming months.
