The picture shows that the new iPhone 16 is expected to change the original diagonally arranged matrix module to a vertically arranged design, with the raised part in the shape of a pill. It is reported that this component will be used in the iPhone 16 standard version.
Since the iPhone X introduced a full-screen design in 2017, Apple has begun to adopt a vertical camera arrangement. Starting with the iPhone 11 in 2019, the vertically arranged lens ID design was finalized and continued for the second generation until the iPhone 13 was changed to a diagonal design.
It has been reported that to cooperate with Vision Pro’s spatial video recording, two lenses need to be arranged vertically together. If a camera is offset, it becomes extremely difficult to calculate the video in 3D space.
Therefore, the design of the aforementioned iPhone 16 Vertical camera module will facilitate the recording of spatial videos, which will not only improve the aesthetics of taking photos, but its photography capabilities will also be further optimized, making the phone more stable when shooting videos.
To clarify, prior leaks have indicated that the iPhone 16 series is anticipated to launch four models: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The A18 CPU will be found in the iPhone 16/Plus model, while the A18 Pro processor will be found in the iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max, thanks to TSMC’s “N3E” improved 3nm technology.
