On March 5 that Microsoft recently released PowerToys 0.79 update, which fixed a large number of bugs that existed in previous versions. The most noteworthy improvement is the adjustment of the Color Picker Tool interface to make it more in line with the overall style of Windows 11.
In the PowerToys 0.79 version update, the Color Picker Tool migrates to use WPFUI, using the same Fluent UX design language as other Windows native applications, making the overall look simpler and more three-dimensional. Color Picker Tool also adds new options for users to enable/disable telemetry functionality.
The PowerToys 0.79 main updates are as follows:
- Refactor the code to use English as a fallback language when localized resources cannot be found.
- The setting now reverts to “Continue using current power plan” after Awake deactivates itself after either scheduled mode expires.
- Fixed a memory leak that occurred when changing workspaces in FancyZones.
- Added support for .ksh, .zsh, .bsh and .env file types in the Monaco previewer of the file manager add-on.
- Added as an entry to the right-click first-level menu of File Locksmith in Windows 11 system
- Image Resizer units and resizing modes are now localized.
- Added a feature that allows shortcuts to launch applications to be remapped in the keyboard manager.
- Fixed an issue that caused the target path string to become corrupted when registering as a service in Mouse Without Borders.
- Fixed wrong link in doc/devdocs/ readme.md
- Fixed an alignment issue with flyout icons in Settings that caused some icons to be centered.
- Added support for the Slovenian character set in Quick Accent.
